Spring Storm

Machine pieced & free-motion quilted.
Inspired by the transformation of the colors in the woods behind our house in Bucks County, PA, that spring. As each storm approached, the atmosphere took on a pale green and gray glow, seemingly stripping the woods of all color but green and gray. This quilt is pieced right sides together (one of the few that I’ve made that way!). I was new to art quilting at the time and I really enjoyed choosing the various greens and grays from my building fabric stash.
