Center panel is one piece of fabric, painted with Caran D’Ache Neocolor II watercolor crayons and heatset.
Machine pieced borders & free-motion quilted with rayon and metallic thread.
Inspired by an overflowing pot of nasturtiums in our garden, this painted quilt was actually quite simple and enjoyable to make. You could call it a wholecloth quilt, as the entire image is painted and then the stitching accents the outlines of the flowers and pot.
